“Borrowed vistas from my garden include our neighbour’s sheep. Each Spring new lambs, just a few, with the mothers in tow are released on my neighbour’s land. This year we carved out viewing places between our properties removing decades of old farm fencing, brambles and blackberry thickets, replacing with more secure fencing. I’m so glad as now my view gives endless entertaining moments making new friends by way of apple feeding from our prolific trees. A few old ewes are left after a summer of rich grazing the babies now moved on. My borrowed vista gives an abundance of photo opportunities as well inspired this painting “Salt Spring Sheep”, as well “Sheep on the Narrows”.
