Pilgrim Steps : Colourful and vibrant canvas limited editions are each signed and numbered by Artist Jill Louise Campbell.  The canvas giclee artwork is produced locally on Salt Spring Island using archival inks and advanced printing technology.  All prints are carefully top-coated for added UV protection, providing flexibility to hang in bright sun-filled spaces.  Small & Medium Limited Editions are stretched by hand onto Canadian-made wood stretcher bars, ready to hang and enjoy. The Large size is normally shipped rolled due to its size, with stretching easily done by your local framer, or we can arrange special delivery of a fully mounted piece (after ordering a Large Limited Edition online, just call Carmen at the gallery at 800-474-6705 if you prefer that it be shipped fully mounted with special delivery).

The 11”x14” Art Prints are mounted on artist board and can either be ordered framed with our standard gallery frame, or purchased unframed and easily mounted in any standard size 11”x14” from your local framing source.

General shipping is via Canada Post, connecting internationally through USPS and other national postal services.  We are also pleased to arrange alternative shipping – please contact Carmen at the gallery at 800-474-6705.

Please see the Shipping & Artwork Details page under “Salt Spring Gallery” for more details on the art, mounting/framing, and shipping options.

Pilgrim Steps’

“Twenty years ago I had the good fortune to visit Tibet. Long anticipated I flew alone over the Himalayas from central China to Lhasa. Arriving my kind Tibetan Guide made many sites available to me including The Potala Palace, The Home of The Dalai Lama since the seventh century. ‘Pilgrim Steps’ was a central door in The Potala. The knotted ropes are katas, Buddhist scarves used for ceremonial blessings offering respect and gratitude to Rinpoches and Lamas. Tying the scarves to the door furthers the blessings to all who enter. The stones steps are worn by century’s of pilgrims. The outer and inner door festooned with motifs each colour a symbol for earth, fire, water and air. The curtained embellishments a curiosity to me but widely decorated on exterior windows and doors. I feel huge gratitude for visiting many rooms within The Potala especially remembering the huge statues of Blessed Saints including Padmasambhava.” Jill
