“DayBreak in Provence”

‘This small valley in the Vaucluse Region of Provence we inhabited for a year while our daughters attended a one room school. I painted the idyllic farms and landscape intrigued with layout of generational precision, living designs in seasonal colour, a patchwork of grapes, and fruit tree orchards particularly seductive in morning light. A nocturnal blanket still shrouds the orchard here waiting for the sun penetration, while the first light shimmers on a distant hill. This is a moment captured between two worlds’. Jill
