“Seven Ravens” a painted documentation of my walking the length of Salt Spring Island. Over a couple of years I walked from Southy Point to Ruckle Park, a pilgrimage walk similar energetically to my “Chemin st Jacque” walk in France a couple of years previously. Every week or so I would set out to walk for two hours in silent contemplation. I arranged to have Duart, two hours later follow my route by car to pick me up. To mark my spot to start my next week walk I tied prayer flags. For more than a year I followed this routine walking roads, old paths, forested deer trails. Past farms, Ganges, Vesuvius, golf courses, cottages and waters edge. Rarely meeting another person I marvelled in the beauty of our island. Finally arriving at “Ruckle Park” I knelt my the ocean washing my face and hands in the salty water. I felt a blessing from my soul a completion of honouring my home island.”
