France Fall Art Residency 2024
A welcome art retreat at Chateau Orquevoux this October. Invited into its Art Residency, a painting from her studio time is now included in their collection.

“I immerse into a fairytale environment deep in the countryside of rural France. For two weeksI paint in a tiny studio in an 18th century chateau. My third floor atelier overlooks the stately grounds of this former hunting lodge as well its snug hamlet, forest in fall colours and coddled cottages surrounding an ancient church. Each hour the bells ring across the countryside waking one from the dream spell that has spun its web of gold thread about me. My painting revery is punctuated with walks about The Chateau, dining and sharing with residency artists from the USA, Canada and Australia that have too fallen into the magic of painting while France.

Jill has been travelling and painting France for over 50years. Her first immersion was in the early 70’s attending The Sorbonne in Paris for a school year. Multiple trips since include walking The Grande Randonnee in the south east enroute to The Camino in Spain. Living with her family in Provence for a year as well excursions through Brittany, The Languedoc, and The Loire. Exploring rural old France, painting her love of this land, culture and old way of life is a life long passion.
