March Gallery News

Lauren Campbell paints the exterior with even brush strokes, careful trim out of colour. It’s looking warm and inviting, for 2025.

Over the past week the gallery exterior warms to Lauren’s touch as she liberally paints door, trim and flower boxes in an exquisite yellow called ‘concord ivory’. Passersby exclaim their approval of colour. We love the transformation!

Over 30 years our Salt Spring Island Art Gallery has welcomed thousands of visitors from around the world.

2025 is another pivotal year it is the ending year of another five year lease and tine to contemplate a new beginning as we consider our renewal lease in the spring 2026.
Over thirty years we have weathered the craziest times, ferry strikes, post office strikes, 9/11, the financial crisis 2008, COVID years 2020-2024 and now 2025 a trade tariff that is creating anxiety for so many between USA and Canada.

Our faith, resilience and amazing wonderful clients from both USA and Canada as well from around the world keep us going, encourage us, energize us, renew our faith in people, goodwill and the immense need for positive up-lifting images. I feel so much gratefulness as over the years with each interaction, connection and story it gives rise to heart experiences that are all unforgettable. But it is in times of intense change as is now that I deepen even more into appreciation for all my clients, many who have visited the gallery over and over. You offered so much goodwill, kindness and support for my art! Whatever is going on out there in political land know that our appreciation is huge and we welcome you once again in 2025 and look forward to seeing you this summer.

With a full heart of gratitude to Americans, Canadians and visitors from afar, welcome back. Let’s celebrate our resilience, our desire for a kind world, for peace, for love and even joy.

I believe painted visuals uplift the human spirit. I offer to the world the best that creative urges arises from within me to paint, give joy, light and encouragement to you for your light to also shine bright.
It is together that we make this world the delight it is and anchor in the highest calling humanity is to be.
