There is something quietly powerful about hope. It is not certainty, nor is it the promise of a particular outcome. Hope is a gentle but steadfast belief that life is unfolding as it should, even when the destination remains unseen. In a world that often feels uncertain, hope becomes an anchor within us—a virtue that lifts our spirits, raises our frequency, and helps us move forward with trust and grace.

My newest series, Hope Floats, was created as a visual celebration of this enduring quality. These small original mixed media paintings invite the viewer into a whimsical world of floating boats, curious sea creatures, winding waterways, and dreamlike landscapes. Each image is a reminder that while we may not always know where we are headed, we can still find beauty, wonder, and meaning in the present moment.

Trust became my companion throughout the process. Rather than forcing a vision, I followed one. Each painting revealed itself one brushstroke at a time, as though the images had been waiting beneath the surface all along. Little boats emerged, floating through watery worlds, carried by currents they could not control. They drift without a map, yet remain open to discovery. Their journey mirrors our own.

For me, these tiny vessels symbolize the human spirit. We often move through life without knowing exactly where we are headed. We make plans, encounter unexpected tides, and navigate changing waters. Hope allows us to continue. It encourages us to trust the journey, celebrate the beauty surrounding us, and believe that even uncertainty can carry us somewhere meaningful.

Hope Floats are ultimately about transformation—of old ideas into new possibilities, of discarded beginnings into vibrant stories, and of uncertainty into trust. They remind us that growth often begins with a single seed of hope. From that seed, belief takes root, resilience blossoms, and beauty emerges.

May these little floating boats serve as gentle companions and visual reminders that no matter what waters we find ourselves navigating, all is well, all is unfolding, and hope still floats.
