Gallery News Feb 2022
As Spring approaches Salt Spring Island. Sun shiny days are noticeably longer while grey misted colours of winter cling to early morning and sometimes saturate a day here and there.
Our gallery reopened with soft hours beginning February Thursday, Friday and Saturday 11-5. Carmen Casanova our engaging Gallery Registrar so knowledgeable about my paintings gives fabulous service to returning and new clients now for over six years. We are also happy to arrange for a quiet personal visit, just email the gallery jlcgallery@gmail.com
I am mostly creating in my home studio, new releases of my latest paintings to be arriving by the end of March.
Two years ago I welcomed emerging artist Lauren Campbell my daughter. She is showing her imaginative west coast inspired paintings with wonderful selections of small and large canvases, originals, reproductions, art cards and a now sold out calendar. Have a peek at Lauren’s page here on my website You can also follow Lauren's forest walks through her instagram #pearlandoceans
Lauren is an integral part behind the scenes. Making the gallery ready for opening Lauren has been filling, sanding and painting walls, sorting, cataloguing and shipping artwork. Lauren together with Duart my husband makes sure each reproduction is perfect, stretched, protective top coated, taped in perfect condition for every client order. Hundreds of thoughtful decisions regarding website, media, mailings, gallery displays are what make the business of selling art successful since 1992!
It’s a busy time behind the scenes as we categorize, photograph paintings for up coming auction.
We are gearing up for our annual winter auction.
Soon a mailing will be sent out with details about our fabulous offerings. This year, (similar to last year) over fifty limited editions will be auctioned off over a month period. Shipping all over North America through Canada Post we have wonderful feedback from very happy clients who receive their perfect art selection safe and timely.
Our auction is our way of saying thank you to our clients, many following my art for over twenty years. Each limited edition was loved and viewed over the past year and now ready to be auctioned off. As part of the gallery art display last year it is now their time for their forever home to make room for new paintings in the wings.
We can hardly wait to share the tremendous offerings!
Happy coming Spring!
