Visit Salt Spring Island

Salt Spring Island can be whirled around in a day, or better yet a weekend, or longer!  The Salt Spring Tourism is a great source when planning your trip. To get into the island groove, it is best to start your trip on Friday night. The Island is linked with great ferry service, with the last sailing about 9pm. Check the current schedule and very handy web cam.

The Gallery is open winter hours : Thursday, Friday and Saturday   10:30 - 5pm

If you are planning a special trip to the gallery on Salt Spring, please drop us an email and we can arrange to be open for your visit.

Here is a snap shot of the local bulletin board:

Here are a few of my favorite sights and tastes from Salt Spring Island.

I Love introducing friends to Salt Spring, seeking out all the great producers, artists and great nature places on the island. I thought it was fun to share a few photos from a great tour with friends last summer.

Please leave a comment, I would love to hear about your favorites when on Salt Spring Island.

Saturday Market : French Patisserie

Maxwell Coffee : Yes, It is delicious, located at the foot of Mahon Hall a great local craft and artisan market.

Can you guess where this is?

Night Owl Farm : Best Eggs Ever!

Salt Spring Ale : Fun place for a flight with friends.

Salt Spring Shine : Honey goodness

 Petting the locals

David Woods Cheese : Because your trip to the island wouldn't be complete without.

Salt Spring Winery : Fun location for a picnic, and pair with a locally made craft beverage. Take home a bottle of blackberry port.

Can you guess where this is?

The Treehouse Cafe : Great food, and it is directly across the courtyard from the Gallery.  My favorites are the tofu scramble for breakfast, and the roast yam quesadilla for lunch, everything is great.  The Treehouse along with the Oyster Catcher next door, both offer great live music every night in summer.

Jill Louise Campbell Art Gallery : Your time on Salt Spring is not complete without visiting the gallery in the heart of Ganges, on the boardwalk. During the lovely summer evenings you will probably find Duart Campbell enjoying the live music in the courtyard, and artist Jill will be delighted to show you her work, and welcome you to the gallery.

Artist Jill Louise Campbell has a lovely collection of Salt Spring Island scenes. This little yellow neighborhood shop is the Vesuvius Store, now open as a cute coffee shop.  Here is the link to the Salt Spring Island Collection.
